Polyploidy events shaped the expansion of transcription factors in Cucurbitaceae and exploitation of genes for tendril development

Cucurbitaceae is one of the most important plant families distributed worldwide. Transcription factors (TFs) regulate growth at transcription level. Here, we performed a systematic analysis 42 641 TFs from 63 in 14 and 10 non-cucurbit species. Whole-genome duplication (WGD) was dominant event type almost all plants. The TF were divided into 1 210 orthogroups (OGs), which, 112 unique to Cucurbitaceae. Although loss several gene detected Cucurbitaceae, expanded five species that experienced WGD comparing with grape. Our findings revealed recent events had occurred played roles expansion families. functional enrichment genes significantly or contracted uncovered families, AUX / IAA , NAC NBS HB NF - YB . Finally, conducted comprehensive TCP family identified 16 tendril-related ( TEN ) 11 Interestingly, characteristic sequence changed CNNFYFP CNNFYLP Bhi06M000087 Benincasa hispida Furthermore, new sequence, YNN, which could be used for exploitation In conclusion, this study will serve as reference studying relationship between evolution genome duplication.
